The short answer is YES.
Real luxury Moroccan rugs, and I mean the premium quality ones, wash up beautifully, and will last their owners a lifetime. In fact the selection we offer passes through generations and gain in value over time.
Quality Moroccan rugs have high sheen wool with rich, natural, lively colors. They are rugs that will always elevate your space, and blend perfectly in different atmosphere and interiors.
The first thing you should look at is the region the rug is coming from. The weaving of a Boujad will be much lighter and less tight than a Mrirt for example, the knots will be loose and distant.
Then you should ask about the coloring process and of course don't go for the generic choices that are present in 90% of the online shops (And I am not exaggerating), unless you want the medium quality. As those do not use natural dye or the premium wool for their rugs. Which can be fine if you know that is your choice. But expect the rug to be less comfortable and fluffy, and also less heavy and thick.
And of course, respect the artisans and always look for ways to support local cooperative. This helps the women who spend months working on each piece, but also support Morocco in keeping the tradition and heritage going.
Voila! And if you need any feedback on a Moroccan rug you are looking at, you are welcome to reach out to me for care tips or input regarding fiber and dye quality.
And of course visit our website to check the selection we have, we offer you a 10% on your first order, and a FREE delivery worldwide.
Happy shopping!
